Personal Statement

Growing up, I was fortunate to have the experience of world travel. I have lived in the Northeast U.S., Switzerland, Italy, and Denmark. In 1962 I met the love of my life, and we are still together, making our life in Groton, NY since 1970.

After high school, I tried college, but I didn't like it. I preferred keeping busy building things: cars, boats, furniture, buildings. I learned to be an electrician, a mechanic, a plumber, a welder, a carpenter, and a heavy equipment operator. I thrived on learning new skills, and working with my hands. I still do. You can grow up, but you don't have to grow old. I still ski all winter, and ride my Triumph Bonneville the other three seasons.

I was first introduced to Renovus Energy when I hired them to install a wind generator for me at my home in Groton. I liked the people that made up the company. They cared about doing good work, as well as doing their job to save the earth. I knew my skills would be of value to them, and I asked for a job, officially ending my retirement. I have never regretted my decision.
